The Bad Boy bullet proof 08 CBR 1000RR is now @ 81,000 miles without one glitch, though it gobbles up stacks of tires quickly, snacks on brake pads, and sips on the chain, the last chain I got 50,000 mi out of it, I mix Dura-Lub with Nickel never seize as my trick chin lube.
I spank it's pistons into a redline blur every weekend and some week days on my Big Isle of Fast 250 mi Hot Lap, @ 73 yr old I ride as much a possible both street and Dual Sport off road, shootz I may not wake up tomorrow morning so I'm going for it now, also dont forget Fukushima Diichi Nuclear reactor meltdowns, life for all is getting shorter by the moments dudes.
This bike lives comfortably @ a buck 40-60 on its average Hot Lap speeds...the 08 is the best of the CBRs because of a lighter crankshaft, plus Honda porked out the newer models with a 26 lb ABS system.
@ 1000,000 mi I will send the F/R suspension off to Race Tech for a Gold Valve setup shim stacked to my riding style, as is now I got the suspension set up stiff as I can get it...some of my sections are nasty rough with air time rises, so I need the stiffer suspension to take the high speed drop in hits.
Dont lay around the house with your hand in the potato chip bag and end up dying of some stupid couch potato disease, you want to kill yourself first on a Superbike first...ride fun fast now...die happy you did later.
The TPX Radar detector has save my ass many times on each Hot Lap...dont leave home without one.
This CBR has never been washed, only wiped down.
